- Pass around a journal at your reception and ask guests to write
a short note to the bride and groom. This will be a wonderful
keepsake, more special than a high school yearbook!
- Have your mothers’ or grandmothers’ wedding bouquet
duplicated by your florist. Be sure to take your florist a good
photo. What a lovely way to honor a happy marriage.
- Save memorabilia from each step of your wedding planning. Gown
swatches, ticket stubs, boarding passes, gown descriptions, and
pictures. This will make a great scrapbook!
- Have your groom escort both of your mothers to their seats rather
than an usher.
- If you have no ringbearer, have your flower girl carry the
ring on a small silver tray.
- As a favor, give each guest a small candle. Attach a note requesting
that they light it sometime & say a prayer for you and
your new groom.
- Select a particular flower as your wedding theme. Make it your
flower for life, keeping the sentiment of the day.
- Ask your parents what kind of music they had at their wedding.
Use some of it in yours & include a dedication in your
program.
- Send guests home with a tree seedling to plant in honor of your
wedding. They will be reminded of your love for years to
come.
- Use some greenery in your bouquet that can be rooted. (Ivy or
myrtle) Start plants for your new home. (A royal tradition.)
- If the marriages of your parents or grandparents have stood
the test of time, pay tribute to them by displaying their wedding
photos:
